| May 2009 Red Baron Speaks |
| April - The Red Baron Speaks: The 2009 KC Shoot out is now history and when I left Sunday they were already discussing improvements for next year. Gone, I hope, will be those little scoreboards you can not see from either end of the table and if you have perfect eye sight only from a few spectator seats. The directors table is to be moved to the southeast corner of the room and hopefully, make room for sixteen boards. >>> |
Las Vegas Shuffleboard:
Compared to a lot of players in the sport, I'm a rookie. I've only been playing the sport for about 26 years. Some of you I know have 30-40 or more years. I'm distressed over the fact that we have only made small steps in promoting the popularity of the sport. Table Shuffleboard is considered that game in bars with little round silver discs. >>> |
| March Red Baron Speaks: My calendar shows a couple of local events then it is off to KC for the shoot out which starts April 1st. This has become one of the most talked about events on the circuit and I look for good attendance regardless of congresses attempt to meddle with the public’s pocket books. One local Saturday pro-am event just had 23 teams so players are starting to travel locally. I think KC should be a good show. Read More >>> |
| Hello, my name is Steve Blair. I live in East Moline, Illinois (The Quad Cities). We are tucked away on the banks of the Mississippi where I-80 and the river meet. As I looked through the 2009 Bower’s Ratings I was disappointed to see only two rated players from Illinois. I was mistakenly placed in Missouri, so that makes three. I am on a mission to get the game of shuffleboard popular again in western Illinois, then hopefully the rest of the state. Read more>>> |
| Follow up from Mahlon Nobles: I've include a few examples to help demonstrate what I mean with creating formats that may help attract all players by offering everyone the opportunity to compete on an near even keel. |
| Theory of Median Formats: Wouldn’t it be great to see hundreds of Pros, 0’s & 1’s who have worked very hard to become great players, back again participating in our Tournaments? >>>> |
| Newsletter: I haven’t played much shuffleboard this past year. I only a participated in a handful of tournaments including our Shuffleboard Appreciation Day at Journey’s End, NASC™ 2008, the Indiana State Tournament and a few other tournaments close by .>>>>> |
| February 2009 The Red Baron Speaks: I have been searching thru the Boardtalk archives for event information and find that
northern Indiana did a very poor job of submitting event information or the winners of
the events.>>> |
National Registered Shuffleboard Players Association
Today's shuffleboard game has advanced to a level that is bordering on professional sports talent. There are many aspects of the game that direct the best players in the world to a "professional" leve. One of the main attractions >>> |
| January 2009 The Red Baron Speaks - The local events have started the new season slowly with marginal attendance. As much as Indiana has resisted rated events .... >>> |

To all Shuffleboard players from Jeff Posthumus
The NASC Tournament held at the Sands Regency Hotel and Casino in Reno Nevada was a great success. John McDermott and crew did such a fantastic job with this tournament that enough cannot be said for their efforts >>> |
