Another successful turnout occurred in what is believed to be the second longest running tournament in Michigan at Skip’s during this year’s Skip’s Fall Bash. A total of 76 shuffleboard patrons participated in this three day tournament (surpassing last year’s 72), including the following events: AB Draw Partner on Friday, ABC Draw Partner on Saturday, and Open Singles on Sunday. Just under $13,000 was up for grabs. Players came from far and wide, including Indiana, Ohio, Nevada’s Chris Passariello, Nebraska’s Marty Shepard, and Missouri’s Frank Edelen. Thanks for your continued support in your travels!

On Friday, 25 teams participated in the AB Draw Partner event. Taking first place this year were Jim Long & Frank Edelen (sponsored by Brenda Kane). Second place winners were Ray Miller & Don Bower (sponsored by Bill Haskins), and third place recipients were Dennis Stantz & Melinda Flynn (sponsored by Bill Niswonger). Fourth place went to Jason Papa & Carolyn Perry (sponsored by Steve Auten). Tied for fifth and sixth place were the teams of Chris Passariello & John Flynn, and Bill Kane and Rob Mueller (sponsored by Steve Auten and Jim Long respectively). (All Participants)

On Saturday, 22 teams battled in the ABC Draw Partner Event. Fierce competition resulted in first place victory going to Bill Kane, Brenda Kane, & Mike Young (sponsored by Steve “CoCo” Brown) with Jim Earl Madary, Carlos Capote, and Lee Kinley (sponsored by Dan Genez) finishing in second, and John Myles, Kelly Genez, & Debbie Kern in third (sponsored by Roland Harkless). Finishing in fourth place were Ray Miller, Jimmy Kumpula, & Steve Jurik (sponsored by Brenda Kane). (All Participants)

Sunday heat continued, as 20 people competed in the Open Singles. Steve Auten went on to take first place (sponsored by Steve Auten), with Chris Passariello in second (sponsored by Bob Querback). Third place went to Dennis Bittner (sponsored by Steve Auten), and fourth place went to Alonzo Cottrell (sponsored by Rob Kern). (All Participants)

Tournament Directors CoCo and Cindy Brown, and Rob and Debbie Kern would like to thank the many people who helped to ensure the continued success of this annual event.

Special recognition should be given to Mr. and Mrs. Skip Sliwa (owners of Skip’s Lounge), and the staff of Linda Chudzinski, Norma Jean Rudolph, Sally Terwilliger, Pam Richaradson, Pat Parker, and Brian Little for their generous hospitality, including a great food spread.
