September 7, 2007 through September 9, 2007
Another successful turnout occurred in what is believed to be the second longest running tournament in Michigan at Skip’s during this year’s Skip’s Fall Bash. A total of 56 shuffleboard patrons participated in this three day tournament, including the following events: AB Draw Partner on Friday, ABC Draw Partner on Saturday, and Open Singles on Sunday. Players came from far and wide, including Indiana, Ohio, and Missouri. Thanks for your continued support in your travels!
On Friday, 19 teams participated in the AB Draw Partner event. Taking first place this year were Glen Ingram and Richard Reist (sponsored by Chris LeMieux). Second place winners were Jim Long and Doug Queen (sponsored by Skip Sliwa), and third place recipients were Chris LeMieux and Tom Williams (sponsored by Don Bauer). Fourth place went to Wayne Atkinson and Cindy Brown (sponsored by themselves).
On Saturday, 13 teams battled in the ABC Draw Partner Event. Fierce competition resulted in first place victory going to Michael Young, Lacho Baraddas and Brian Little (sponsored by JR Lopez) with Bob Auten, Debbie Surfus and Tom Brushaber (sponsored by themselves) finishing in second, and Dan Genez, Don Parkhurst and Diane Varela in third (sponsored by themselves).
Sunday heat continued, as 9 people competed in the Open Singles. Finishing in first place was Jim Long. Second place winner was Rob Kern, and third went to Doug Queen.
Tournament Directors CoCo and Cindy Brown, and Rob and Debbie Kern would like to thank the many people who helped to ensure the continued success of this annual event.
Special recognition should be given to Mr. and Mrs. Skip Sliwa (owners of Skip’s Lounge), and the wonderful staff for their generous hospitality, including a great food spread.
Skip’s Annual Fall Bashs’ continued success is attributed to the many wonderful shuffleboard patrons. Thank you so much for all who attended and we hope to see even more players next year!
