We survived another CO.NE.Head! Once again, our annual Colorado/Nebraska A/B/C draw tournament, hosted by the Balloon Inn, lived up to it’s “way too much fun” and competitive reputation.

Thanks to the seven Nebraskan’s: Mickey Moy, Jerry Vanderwoude, Loren Gorgenson, Mike Smith, Liz Pope, Mike Pope and Jenny Watts and one Californian (Lorraine Olson) who made the trip to keep the tradition alive. We can only guess that Harold’s crew got lost on the way to Colorado.

Several matches went to the third game with a format of 2 out of 3 games to 21 in the winners bracket and 2 out of 3 games to 15 in the losers bracket.

In the end, first place honors went to Ron Sosovec (CO, Capt.), Mike Pope (NE) and Bill Shino (CO) with Mickey Moy (NE Capt.), Lorraine Olson (CA) and Jerry Vanderwoude (NE) finishing second. Third place went to Char Waugaman (CO Capt.), Mike Smith (NE) and Bill Foster (CO).

Congratulations to the winners and many thanks to all the players who participated and made the trip! This was Jerry Vanderwoude’s first out-of-town tournament and Jenny Watt’s first ever tournament. We hope everyone had a good time and will return next year for the CO.NE.Head VII.
