Just wanted to let all of our Shuffleboard friends know that our friend Michele Lamo is in the hospital with West Nile Virus. She has been in there for over a week now. It was touch and go for a while but she is improving. She had lost all of her motor skills but seems to be getting them back a little each day. In place of flowers we decided it was best to make a donation. Michele is a single person and could use the money. If you find it in your heart to do so please send all cards and donations to Susie Jones (address below). She goes to visit her every other day and will more than happy to seen that Michele gets the cards. We will present Michele with all donations at a later time as we plan to do something at the up coming Wandering Women's Tournament for her.

Please do not try to call her. She still can not speak on the phone and has a hard time holding on to anything. Please take a moment and say a prayer for our friend Michele. I know she would do the same for you.

Thank you, Jim Martin

John FisherDear Southwest shuffleboard players,

This is a letter of thanks to all players and fans who were in attendence at the recently completed Labor day tournament staged at Oskars in Bellflower,CA. I was overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness, kindness and generosity of those who contributed to the raffle to assit me with costs incurred due to the passing of my sister Christine.

I especially would like to thank Paul Weber who through his efforts this was made possible. I can not put into words how grateful I'am to know and be associated to this outstanding ambassador of shuffleboard.God bless you Paul. I would also like to thank Richard Warren, Jeff Posthumas and of course Jim Martin and Vern Booth for thier help.

I would also like to offer my appology for not being able to thank you all personally, but I felt at the time it would have broke me up terribly. It never ceases to amaze me how fantastic it is to be apart of the world of shuffleboard and the people that are in it. I cant think of another group of people that can hold a candle to us. I love you all.

John Fisher

P.S. I would also like to thank all that contributed but were not in attendence.
